LinkedIn is changing its nature. What once was primarily a platform for CVs and job postings is evolving into a dynamic feed of knowledge, video, and inspiration.

If you work in marketing, sales, leadership, or innovation, there is one content format in particular you won’t be able to ignore in 2026.
Spoiler: it moves and it fills the entire screen.

Let’s dive into what’s coming and what it means for you.

Video takes center stage

LinkedIn reports that video posts are shared 20 times more than other content formats, and total watch time has increased by 36% year over year.

And that’s not all. In 2026, we can expect a dedicated video feed (already in beta in selected regions), where users swipe through full-screen, vertical videos. The focus? Professional learning, innovation, and events, not cat videos 😊

In practice, this means:

  • Share short, insight-rich videos: how-tos, meaningful stories, or small glimpses from your workday
  • Prioritize educational and relatable content over pure promotion. The platform already offers plenty of ad opportunities
  • Use live streams and webinars for launches, trends, and Q&A sessions, they make your brand feel more human.

Micro-learning goes mainstream

More and more professionals want to keep up with trends in AI, marketing, and business.

That’s why LinkedIn is introducing three-minute micro-lessons directly in the feed. Small, focused learning bites you can consume while scrolling, such as:

  • One powerful prompt tip
  • One sharp LinkedIn headline
  • One concrete takeaway you can use immediately.

For both personal profiles and brands, this opens up a new opportunity: one point, one post, one clear value.

Welcome to LinkedIn’s short-form learning format.

Meet “Inbot”, LinkedIn’s AI assistant

With LinkedIn being owned by Microsoft, deep AI integration is not a question of if, but when.

Enter Inbot: a built-in AI assistant designed to act as your daily productivity partner.

Inbot will be able to:

  • Suggest ideas for posts
  • Summarize messages and threads
  • Help with lead follow-ups in Sales Navigator
  • Analyze engagement on profiles and company pages.

So far, we at Digital Works haven’t found LinkedIn’s AI efforts particularly useful, so it will be interesting to see whether they deliver significantly better results in 2026.

Trend insights for creators and brands

LinkedIn wants to make it easier to understand what actually works. That’s why we can expect a Trend Insights dashboard showing:

  • Popular keywords and hashtags
  • Emerging and growing industry conversations
  • High-performing topics within your network.

This gives you a strong advantage: you can create timely, relevant content that boosts visibility and positions you (or your brand) as a thought leader.

Combine LinkedIn’s trend data with your own analytics and plan weekly content that hits both timing and relevance.

Summary

In 2026, LinkedIn will reward those who dare to combine creativity, learning, and authenticity.

The platform is no longer just a network, it’s becoming the most important hub for professional conversations, knowledge sharing, and business development.

The question isn’t whether LinkedIn is changing. The question is whether your content is keeping up.
